  • Position Summary

    Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Logistic Manager is responsible for the efficient transport of finished products and for ensuring that products are delivered in the correct order, on time and at a reasonable cost. The incumbent acts as a resource to ensure the most efficient use of the carriers throughout Quebec, Ontario and the Maritimes. The incumbent is also responsible for the fleet of trucks, the trailers and the team responsible for equipment maintenance.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Supervise and ensure that the designated work is performed correctly by all members of the team
    • Manage absences and manning requirements
    • Establish a training plan for Truck Drivers
    • Distribute legal documents (truck registrations and insurance) and ensure that everything complies
    • Conduct monthly meetings to develop specific issues
    • Manage the mechanics' time and check if the working hours have been compiled correctly
    • In the absence of the Traffic Clerk, compile hours worked by drivers and mechanics, and deliver the information to payroll on a weekly basis
    • Produce the annual employee performance appraisals
    • Implement Vicwest culture
    • Develop individual performance goals and quarterly performance reviews for all direct employees
    • Participate in meetings with senior management
    • Plan the transport and management of trucks
    • Judge and authorize drivers to travel according to weather conditions
    • In the event of incidents or accidents, collect pertinent information, take the necessary measures according to the severity of the event and complete the various reports
    • Take the necessary actions in the event of a mechanical breakdown on the road
    • Respond to emergency calls from drivers and take immediate action
    • Coordinate transport in order to reduce costs
    • Control expenditures against established budget, quality standards, planning specifications and compliance with legislation
    • Communicate with subcontractors to negotiate transport prices with them and maintain a good business relationship
    • Responsible for the budget for purchasing and maintaining trucks and trailers
    • Modernize and computerize obligations per the SAAQ (electronic daily logs, circle check, maintenance of PEP equipment, monitoring on the road)
    • Prepare reports and statistics for review by senior management
    • Recommend operational changes to management when necessary to ensure standards and performance are maintained and improved

    Qualifications

    • College diploma in transport logistics or equivalent experience
    • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in transportation
    • Experience in a unionized environment
    • Knowledge of production control and planning models (continuous improvement training: Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma) would be an asset
    • Excellent management, interpersonal, verbal and communication skills
    • High level of leadership and decision-making skills
    • Ability to motivate and influence people
    • Experience with SAP will be considered an asset
    • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
    • Bilingual French / English (an asset)

  • Position Summary

    The Production Manager is responsible for streamlining production processes, keeping costs down, decreasing errors, meeting deadlines. Supervising employees and provide service to customers.  The incumbent arranges and controls daily team activities to support achievement of the In Full, On Time, In Spec (“IFOTIS”) KPI.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Develop methods to utilize personnel and resources in the best possible way; this includes reducing waste, increasing productivity, supervising training and overseeing employees
    • Knowledgeable about safety requirements and ensuring that no violations occur. This would include scheduling equipment maintenance
    • Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of purchasing, production, sales and shipping
    • Responsible for establishing all shift production schedule
    • Deals with the day-to-day emergencies/problems on the production floor
    • Knowledgeable of lean tools and methods such as; Five S, Six Sigma, Kaizen Value Stream Mapping and Root-Cause Analysis with respect to quality issues and/or defects
    • Supervises training and assists with the hiring. Develops and maintains good management/worker relations
    • Search and met customers to increase market share
    • Maintain a business relationship with existing customers

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12
    • Knowledge of lean tools and methods such as; Five S, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping and root-cause analysis would be a definite asset.
    • A minimum of five (5) years of prior supervisory experience
    • A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience working within the manufacturing field
    • Leadership and decision-making abilities
    • Able to motivate, influence and train people
    • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • Bilingual English/French would be considered and asset

  • Position Summary

    The Order entry clerk is accountable to the Customer Service Manager and is responsible for entering orders into the computer system. He can also be called upon to assist in the department for all other related tasks.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Receive, analyze and ensure order entry to meet the require date / customer delivery
    • Ensure data integrity and price accuracy
    • Make some changes to orders
    • Provide assistance when needed in administrative tasks relative to customer service
    • Support sales department in all other administrative tasks

    Qualifications

    • College diploma
    • 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar position
    • Keyboard fingering
    • Attention to detail, methodical
    • Experience with SAP is an asset
    • Ability to work in team

  • Position Summary

    Under the Supervision of the Regional Sales Coordinator, the Inside Sales Coordinator provides customer service by responding to inquiries and complaints about products and services received by phone, fax or email.  Points commonly discussed may include but are not limited to price, delivery dates, adjustments, orders and other.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Receive, analyze and coordinate activities related to the reception of orders from customers.
    • Follow up on orders by ensuring good communication to customers by providing them adequate information regarding the status of their orders.
    • Verify and enter information in the internal system as well as maintain complete and accurate sales order entry
    • Work with different partners (internal and external) to ensure that all customer needs are met. Make sure to maintain good communications and improve quality by following policies, reporting and tracking improvement opportunities.
    • Develop sales initiatives by researching and identifying potential opportunities by soliciting customers, maintaining good relationships, providing technical information and good communication as well as providing proposals.

    Qualifications

    • University or college degree
    • Knowledge of the manufacturing environment is an asset.
    • Excellent relationship building skills.
    • Knowledge of our channels (agricultural, commercial and industrial) is an asset
