  • Position Summary

    The Production Coordinator – Metal is accountable to the Assistant Operations Manager and is responsible to coordinating production to the shop floor, ensure orders are being completed based on shipping requirements.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Determine work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow
    • Review production orders to ascertain product data such as quantities and specification of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan proper operations
    • Ensure production meets the schedule and demands
    • Coordinating activities between shipping and production
    • Issues oral and written instructions to Operators
    • Assist and support the lean manufacturing and safety initiatives
    • Provide customer service, both internally and externally, by responding to phone requests, and communicating pertinent information to the correct resources
    • Verify production upon completion to make sure all requirements are fulfilled
    • Adjusts errors
    • Assist in order entry
    • Monitor inventory levels by coordinating with Supply Chain

    Qualifications

    • Three years of experience in customer service
    • Excellent organization and communication skills
    • Proven ability to build strong relationships, internally and externally
    • Basic proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Experience in the building industry is preferred
    • Experience with SAP is an asset

  • Position Summary

    Under the supervision of the Assistant Operations Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of employees while respecting deadlines, policies and health and safety rules.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Develop methods to increase productivity while reducing the cost of operations and scrap
    • Manage production priorities according to the established schedule
    • Ensure quality standards
    • Ensure Health and Safety requirements are followed as well as Company policies, regulations and collective agreement
    • Organize and follow up on training provided to new employees by qualified employees
    • Ensure employees have the required training for their work assignment
    • Work in collaboration with other Production Supervisors
    • Monitor employees and coach for quality and performance
    • Manage inventory levels, control waste and provide strategies for improvement
    • In collaboration with the maintenance department, ensure equipment is safe and up and running
    • Implementation of Vicwest culture

    Qualifications

    • College Diploma in a related field
    • Minimum of 2 - 3 years of experience in supervising staff in a unionized environment, 2 of which are in manufacturing
    • Proven ability to coach, lead, motivate and supervise staff
    • Ability to analyse production issues and propose solutions
    • Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills, with the proven ability to influence and persuade
    • Experience with SAP is preferred
    • Knowledge of lean tools and methods such as 5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping and root-cause analysis would be a definite asset
    • Bilingual (English and French) would be an asset

  • Position Summary

    Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, you are responsible for developing and organizing the administration and maintenance of Vicwest Health and Safety and loss prevention programs to minimize the frequency and severity of accidents and injuries. You evaluate, document, recommend, and support the improvement of the company’s product quality to the highest Environmental, Health and Safety standards, following established processes and procedures.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Assist with planning, establishing, implementing and maintaining a variety of occupational health, safety and environmental programs to ensure the highest degree of safety for employees in Quebec
    • Compile data prepares recommendations to eliminate potential problems and oversees the administration of workers compensation claims and accident investigation
    • Direct and/or assist in the development of specialized education and training material. Conduct specialized safety and environmental training programs
    • Study customer complaints and conducts investigations
    • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining the quality system

    Qualifications

    • College or university degree with a certificate in Health and Safety
    • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience
    • Experience in a union environment is an asset
    • Experience with ERP and / or ISO 9001 is an asset
    • Ability to analyze and understand health and safety policies and principles, risk management
    • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Position Summary

    We are currently looking for Labourer Workers for permanent and student positions at our Victoriaville location.     You are good with your hands. You know how to use a tape measure. You want to work in the construction industry, but you don’t want to work outdoors. Join our company and take part in steel construction projects with a focus on the building envelope, ranging from small renovations to large-scale new structures.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Working with a colleague, you will set up and remove steel coils from forming dies to create the profile adapted to our client's needs.
    • You will have to make different types of mouldings using machines, such as press brakes, shears, and punch presses.
    • You will participate in the manufacture of wooden pallets or crates that will be used to package our products.
    • You can put your sense of organization to good use when loading our trailers so that our truckers can make deliveries to our customers.

    Qualifications

    • You like variety, you like to alternate workstations. Your tasks can change every day and even several times a day.
    • You are a team player and you like to be around people. The majority of our tasks must be performed in teams, because it takes two to carry steel sheets.
    • You like to take on new challenges, as each wall and each roof has its own particularities.
    • You are available for day, evening and night shifts. There are a few rotating shifts to be worked at times too.
    • You’re organized, and you enjoy working in a clean environment.

  • Position Summary

    This is a temporary position until October 29, 2021.

    This position is at the heart of our activities. Once orders are placed, you have to plan all the production activities so that the delivery deadlines are met.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Your organizational skills are essential, as you will be in charge of planning the production schedule from the Sales Department through to the Operations Department.
    • You are able to keep in touch with several people at the same time, as you will have to communicate with the Purchasing, Operations, Shipping/Receiving, and Sales Departments to be able to properly plan the activities.
    • Your expertise will be needed since you will also have to communicate with other branches to answer questions about orders or to meet commitments.
    • To achieve your goals, you will have to plan the management of raw materials stock.
    • Your analytical skills will be put to good use when analyzing information coming from our production systems, which are there to help in your task.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • 1 to 3 years of experience in this field
    • You like to work in a dynamic environment and on several projects at the same time
    • You are a team player
    • You have excellent spoken and written communication skills
